New colored version of Dryptosaurus
Sorry for the giant gap in posts, been swamped at the regular job. So for now here's a new colored version of Dryptosaurus, hopefully I'll be able to get to that new Spinosaur and Tyrannosaur next week! Colors on this one were fixed by the wife;)
The colours look really nice, good contrast and the brushes give it a really nice sculptural quality. great peice!
not a big fan of the feather needles on the lower area of the calves but im guessing thats more of a personal design preference than an anatomical feature?
Thanks Marco, the quills on the back of the calves are based on the micro raptor feather patterns. No actual evidence in tyrannosaurs, but I thought they looked cool;)
As always, the restoration is great, I love your smooth and concise lines, they are fantastic, and combined with the anatomy of these beasts... just great! Colors are very nice too, and I almost like the feathery integument (I know that most evidences suggest feathers for tyrannosaurs, but... I still prefer to imagine them as scaly big beasts...). My only critic/comment: the tail looks a little bit strange. That angle of the tail (like a 90ยบ degree turn) seems a little bit abrupt...
dinosaurs did not have feathers they were reptile only had scales protofeathers was dead skin velociraptor family is a bird a flightless bird they are not dinosaurs birds have fixed femur a knee runner hands are differant too birds was in fossil record allready modern bird foot print in arginetine date 210 millon most dinosaurs in triassic look more reptile had 4 or 5 finger and legs protoavis date 225 millon it had stroung keel bird like dinosaurs was not in triassic
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Damn that was funny as hell! I think you hit all the BAND talking points at one time!
Now you just need to work on your presentation, not nearly enough CAPS! Half that post should be RANDOM CAPS.... how else can I know you're RIGHT? And maybe mention Jesus... that ALWAYS HELPS!
Brett is a comic book artist currently working on nothing he can mention, damn it! He also draws dinosaurs! He likes to talk about science and evolution if you don't want to here about that stuff, tuff cookies;)
If you would like to use my images on your web site, please e-mail me. (brettbooth at gmail dot com) I usually grant permission for non-commercial uses but I do require that you provide a link back to me. If you are a scientist, or represent a museum or educational institution, one time print use of dinosaur images is very low cost and sometimes free, please inquire.
Commissioned artwork
I am happy to draw original paleo artwork for papers, articles and the like. I'm happy to do these for very reasonable fee's and in some cases I'll even wave that. So feel free to ask.
I will no longer doing comic/anthro character commissions. See other blog.
Nice Brett!
