What exactly was deemed "wrong" about it if you don't mind me asking? I think lately things are getting a little out of control in the paleo-art community with people immediately discounting things as wrong based off of speculative evidence. To me, this appears to be a beautiful spinosaurus drawing. Great drawing!
I like it. And if you are drawing Stromers' Spinosaurus ægyptiacus, anyone who does a reconstruction of it is guessing at what this critter looked like. Stromer only found a few vertebrae, 20 teeth, some lower jaw bones, and a couple of rib fragments if I remember correctly...
Very nice Leo:) I'll have to translate all that info when I get some free time:)
Ryan,
Well there are problems with the head, arms, legs, torso and sail. That's all I can really say right now;)
Thomas,
Yeah, Stromer only found some of it... there are other bits and pieces floating around as well. Wiki had another skeleton last time I looked, I've been told the sail is wrong on it (the wiki one).
Loved Dinosaur Revolution, well most of it. Haven't seen Planet Dinosaur yet (I;m in the US, it hasn't aired yet.) Terra Nova was horrible, I think it takes the cake for the most movie cliches ever! I do want to see what their Allosaurs look like so I'll fast forward to the dinosaurs;)
In my opinion the best DR episodes were the Portugal Jurassic and Hell Creek Cretaceous. The other 2... I think Planet Dinosaur is on youtube, at least first 2 episodes. There is an allosauurs in Terra Nova? I tought it was Carnotaurus. I will look this.

Yeah, how about some punctuation? First off, protoavis is most likely a chimera, meaning it's made up of several animals.
How can you tell it's a bird foot and not a dinosaur foot? It's impossible to know.
There is NO evidence of 'birds' from the triassic, there are dinosaurs from the mid Jurassic with feathers BEFORE the first true birds wich are early middle Cretaceous.
Feathers on dinosaurs have been verified, there are LOTS of examples now, how about looking it up before making claims from the 50's.
The 'hepatic' piston proves nothing as both birds and dinosaurs are related to crocs. Yes some dinosaurs were different from birds, but that doesn't mean they were not related. In fact scientists are now having problems telling the two apart, what is a bird and what is a dinosaur. All modern studies place dinosaurs as endotherems and thus not reptiles int he classic sense.
Have you ever actually seen bird legs? Scales, lots of scales. Sorry dude, try again.
I think the short legs are not logical on a fisheating dinosaur. I think the spinosaurus like the storks had long, wade legs like the storks and the aigrettes.
When did you upload an Empirosaur draw from Terra nova? or a Dinosaur revolution styled spinosaurus?
If it was a swimmer then the shorter legs would be a benefit, less drag in the water. The evidence is clear in this case, the spinosaur branch had short legs and LONG bodies:)
hey, I am your new member, visit my blog, is about dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures:

ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteNo they are not, crocs and dinosaurs are both archosaurs but crocs are in crocodilia and dinosaurs are dinosauria along with birds.
