Sorry for the giant gap in posts, been swamped at the regular job. So for now here's a new colored version of Dryptosaurus, hopefully I'll be able to get to that new Spinosaur and Tyrannosaur next week! Colors on this one were fixed by the wife;)
Best,
Brett
Nice Brett!
ReplyDeleteThe colours look really nice, good contrast and the brushes give it a really nice sculptural quality. great peice!
ReplyDeletenot a big fan of the feather needles on the lower area of the calves but im guessing thats more of a personal design preference than an anatomical feature?
where are you working nowadays?
Marco.
Thanks Taylor!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marco, the quills on the back of the calves are based on the micro raptor feather patterns. No actual evidence in tyrannosaurs, but I thought they looked cool;)
BTW, I quite like your monster designs!
Best!
Brett
As always, the restoration is great, I love your smooth and concise lines, they are fantastic, and combined with the anatomy of these beasts... just great! Colors are very nice too, and I almost like the feathery integument (I know that most evidences suggest feathers for tyrannosaurs, but... I still prefer to imagine them as scaly big beasts...).
ReplyDeleteMy only critic/comment: the tail looks a little bit strange. That angle of the tail (like a 90ยบ degree turn) seems a little bit abrupt...
Thanks Brett, coming from you thats a great compliment!
ReplyDeleteHey Brett!! Good to see you again here!
ReplyDeleteBrett did you see Phil Tppett Prehistoric Beast?
Here is the full short if you want to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlaXIRTjNfo

ReplyDeleteBWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Damn that was funny as hell! I think you hit all the BAND talking points at one time!
Now you just need to work on your presentation, not nearly enough CAPS! Half that post should be RANDOM CAPS.... how else can I know you're RIGHT? And maybe mention Jesus... that ALWAYS HELPS!
Bestest,
Brett
