Gorgosaurus libratus
I kept forgetting to scan this one, today I remembered. Nothing else new done, regular work is taking up all my time. I've got some layouts done up so when the muse hits I can get some more done.
Hey Brett. I didnt see you in a long time!! Nice gorgosaurus. I have a nother questions. When you paint your draws, you used layers to overpaint the lines of the drawn?
I'm not sure what your asking. I do use layers, but we set up the line art using channels since it uses less space. It's an older technique used when most hard drives only had 500MBs.
I mean when I drawn a dinosaur I made all the details like scars, grinkles and spines. But when I paint, this details dissapear. But thanks for the tip of layers. Thanks again and good luck in your future drawns :).
We copy the line art into an alphachannel in Photoshop and set it to 'spot color.' Once the colors are done, the line art is loaded as a selection and filled with black. You can also set the line art up as a layer, floating over the background, then flatten the image when you are done. The channels technique uses less memory and results in a smaller file.
Brett is a comic book artist currently working on nothing he can mention, damn it! He also draws dinosaurs! He likes to talk about science and evolution if you don't want to here about that stuff, tuff cookies;)
If you would like to use my images on your web site, please e-mail me. (brettbooth at gmail dot com) I usually grant permission for non-commercial uses but I do require that you provide a link back to me. If you are a scientist, or represent a museum or educational institution, one time print use of dinosaur images is very low cost and sometimes free, please inquire.
Commissioned artwork
I am happy to draw original paleo artwork for papers, articles and the like. I'm happy to do these for very reasonable fee's and in some cases I'll even wave that. So feel free to ask.
I will no longer doing comic/anthro character commissions. See other blog.
